Donald Trump spars with Matt Lauer on the Today Show

Watch the clip and share your thoughts.

Why did Matt Lauer call Tim Tebow “polarizing”?

Tim Tebow is headed back to the NFL. Tebow is an unabashed Christian. This morning Matt Lauer described him as polarizing. So what makes him polarizing. His exuberance for Christ? His stand on abortion or same sex marriage? The Today Show features all kinds of people with all kinds of points of view, but Tebow is polarizing?

Did Paula Deen leave the Today Show hanging?

Paula Deen loves to talk, but this morning The Today Show just announced that Deen’s scheduled interview might not happen this morning. She was supposed to talk about her use of the n-word in the friendly confines of the Today Show. She has been a frequent guest of the show and they consider her to be a friend of the show, but at this point she might not want to do too much talking. She probably has said enough.

CBS Introduces their New Morning Team…What happened to the old one?

Sunday I watched a lot of football and I kept seeing a commercial touting the new CBS morning team. They called them the new family, but what happened to the old family? Oh they were kicked to the curve in favor of this newer, brighter, shinier model. Maybe they should can the family lingo and call it what it is…an attempt to rescue a ship that has sunk, and they have rid themselves of the Harry Smiths of the world and replaced them with this new crew. The ironic part is the NBC Today Show has been Number One years and their crew is in their mid fifties. Maybe CBS might want to poll people who actually watch morning television before they make the latest crew walk the plank.

13 year old Today Show Guest uses the word C**t on Live Television

This morning I watched Meredith Vieira interview a 13 year old girl on the Today Show. She was involved in the beating of a classmate in the spring. The beating stemmed from text message sent. The victim was repeatedly stomped in the head by a teenage boy. Vieira asked the girl about the content of the text and she said the boy had called the girl a c**t. This is a despicable word and ordinarily I would not discuss it on this blog, but I want to make a point. That point is how do our young people talk to each other? I recently got a Facebook page which has given me a glimpse of some of the conversations that go on between young people. My friend’s daughter who is like a silent librarian around us is the ultimate potty mouth on Facebook. If I talked to my friends like they talk to each other I would be friendless.  I can’t just say the young people are the only culprits because I hear adults address each other in the same despicable manner, but this little girl looked so innocent on The Today Show, and she really let the word flow out of mouth with no regard because this is common language and for me that’s a problem.

Why Does Hollywood Continue to Defend Roman Polanski?

This morning I saw Debra Winger on the Today Show defending the admitted rapist Roman Polanski. She like so many in the Hollywood community believe this is ancient history and he should not face further prosecution. Now why are they so forgiving of him? He has admitted that he slept with a 13 year old. There seems to be a real disconnect here. I think because the victim is now a grown woman people can not see the heinousness of his act. As a mother of a 13 year old girl I would have been hard pressed to let the legal system handle this matter. On The View yesterday the ladies say that the victim’s mother was present in the home when he had sex with the child. So they contend that could be a mitigating circumstance. They even said the mother might also be culpable. That might be true but we know he did and he needs to pay. Some people have been in prison for 30 years for raping a child whereas this guy has been living the life of a jet-setting director for the past 30 years. The other thing that is so ironic about this case is the fact that Polanski admitted his misdeed and Michael Jackson who never admitted guilt and also was never convicted of any crime was vilified until his dying day, but this guy received an Academy Award for best director in 2002, and Harrison Ford hand delivered it to him. The victim has forgiven him and that is wonderful but he still needs to answer for his crime.
