The Rush Limbaugh Name Calling Needs to Stop

Today I have heard Rush Limbaugh called bloated, drug addicted, unattractive, ugly, mean, dumb, stupid, and a misogynist. Why all the name calling? Because Limbaugh called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a name. A vile name that no woman should ever be called. It goes without saying that this was beyond inappropriate. It was wrong and there are no gray areas here, but does calling him names remedy the situation? No. Are the people calling him names any better than he is? Tell me what you think.

“You Know you’re cooking with napalm when Don Imus calls you evil””

The headline is from a tweet by Goldie Taylor. Don Imus infamously called the Rutgers Women Basketball team “nappy headed hoes.” Imus loss his MSNBC job for that remark so today to hear him talk about Rush Limbaugh was like watching the pot call the kettle black. Imus calls Limbaugh a “gutless pill popping loser.” Frankly both men have sharp tongues that have made them millions, but Imus did suffer consequences when he deingrated college students, and it remains to be seen how Limbaughs hateful dialogue will ultimately effect him.

Conservative George Will says Republican Leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh

When I have criticized Republican leaders for not speaking out against Rush Limbaugh I have been told they are not responsible for what he says. They point to Bill Maher and ask are the Democrats responsible for the vile words he spews. In both cases the parties can not control them, but they can and should speak out against them when they go off the deep. A couple of years ago Bill Maher called Sarah Palin the c-word, and I spoke out against him in this blog. To call a woman that name is not only inappropriate it is vile and unacceptable. When Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke a slut that is also beyond inappropriate and this is the word John Boehner used to describe the Limbaugh situation. So no the Republicans are not responsible for the words that Limbaugh says, but they should not be afraid to speak against him. Yesterday George Will made that point watch the clip and tell me what you think.

Rush Limbaugh Apologizes…Miracles Do happen

A Statement from Rush
March 03, 2012

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke. I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level. My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.
Wonder what prompted this? Sponsors were starting to jump ship.

Rush Limbaugh calls Georgetown Law Student Sandra Fluke a slut…will his GOP friends speak out?

There has been a lot of talk about bullying lately, but the conversation has centered on children, but we need to talk about adult bullies. Rush Limbaugh is a powerful voice on the right and he is also a bully. He says whatever he wants and the only consequences are higher ratings for his syndicated radio show. Sandra Fluke, 3rd year Georgetown law student spoke at a Congressional hearing and articulated why she felt that birth control should be covered by health care insurance at religious institutions. Now I believe it is fine to debate the merits of her argument, but Limbaugh took it a step further. He called Fluke a “slut”, and said that if she is selling herself and the government is paying for the birth control perhaps we should see her have sex. He said maybe she could post the videos. A few years ago Don Imus was working for MSNBC and he called the Rutgers Women’s Basketball Team a bunch of “nappy-headed hoes”, he lost his job for this comment, but Limbaugh is not going to lose his, and everyone on the GOP side of the aisle is scared to death of this man. Even when they come out against him on an issue before the dawning of a new day they are backpedalling. Limbaugh is running things, but one would think he would reserve this crude language for his usual victims, the poor and the defenseless. This man has a big podium and a bigger point of view, and no one on the right or the left can stop him, and his employer does not want it to stop because his daily chatfest translates into gold.

Newt, it might be time to pack it up and go home

The Newt Gingrich campaign is on life support, but Gingrich refuses to die. His Republican brethen have turned against him and one wonders at what point will he simply ride off into the sunset, but to truly believe that you should be president requires an incredibly huge ego, and people like that never quit.

Meet Rush Limbaugh’s right hand man…surprisingly he is black

This is an interesting article I read on The Grio. Follow the link:

Mark Halperin called the president a “dick”, what if it had been Glenn Beck?

Mark Halperin appears on Morning Joe quite frequently. This morning he said the president acted like a “dick” at his press conference yesterday. He has apologized and he has been suspended for his remark. So is that the end of it? His remark is being treated as a slip of the tongue and absent of real malice, but are we too quick to move on from this because of who said it? Let’s say it was Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck would we simply accept the apology and move on or would we be calling for his head. Do we have one ruler for conservatives and another for liberals? Tell me what you think.

Limbaugh says “The Black Family Has Disintegrated” Because The “Government Has Become The Husband” And Father

Rush Limbaugh  is known for making some off the hook remarks, and today he said the government is the cause of the disintergration of the black family. Since their programs are geared toward single mothers and their children is the government causing black fathers to be missing in action? Tell me what you think. Does Limbaugh have a point?

Rush Limbaugh calls the President’s base “savages”

Rush Limbaugh speaks to millions of people everyday. So he has a big microphone and he has true influence. Limbaugh’s statements can not be dismissed or ignored. On yesterday’s show he called president Obama’s base “savages” . Savage according to Webster means “a : not domesticated or under human control : untamed <savage beasts> b : lacking the restraints normal to civilized human beings : fierce, ferocious.”  This does not sound like a term that would be used to describe political differences.  In discussing the President’s deficit reduction speech Limbaugh said “His base is made up of people even more vile than he is,” he said. “You’ve got…a lot of it is just walking human debris on the Democrat base side.” He went on to say “That bunch of people, those savages that make up the Obama base, are fit to be tied,” he said. He had to get them back, and the one way to do it was to go out and savage us. That’s what they love. That’s what they get off on. That’s their orgasm. ‘Cause these people can’t find willing mates.”  This is not a political discussion this is plain and simple hatespeak. I am not saying Limbaugh is the only one that does this but I am addressing this incident and there is no excuse for it.
