Steve Harvey’s partenership with Paula Deen has upset some people

“I just know the good in her. That’s all I know. And it outweighs the bad by a landslide,” — Steve Harvey on his new collaboration with Paula Deen.
Steve Harvey is officially on the COON train.

A friend of mine posted this on his Facebook page. Paula Deen admitted to using the N-word last year and she saw sponsors run from her like she had the plague. She has spent the last year rebuilding her brand. Steve harvey reached out to her and has made her a mentor to boys that he mentors through his foundation. He has forgiven her and he has put action to his words. Many in the black community are questioning the wisdom of this decision but what do you think? Should Paula Deen be mentoring young black boys?

Did Paula Deen’s Today show appearance hurt or help her?

Did the Today Show appearance help or hurt, and should Paula Deen just go back to work?

Smithfield drops Paula Deen…when will the fallout stop?

Today Smithfield dropped Paula Deen. This comes days after America learned in a deposition that Deen has used the n-word, and that she wanted to throw a plantation themed wedding. Is Deen a racist? I don’t know, but I do know that she is racially insensitive, and I do know that national sponsors want to avoid controversy. Deen has become a hot potato and it will be interesting to see if this is the first of many sponsors jumping off the good ship Deen. Deen is a daughter of the south, or a grandaughter of the confederacy. She liberally uses the language used in those days gone by. I think Deen has a lot to learn and I don’t see this as a teachable moment. The Food Network and losing the Smithfield account are business decisions. Companies are not trying to teach they are in it for the money, and if a spokesperson is associated with controversy they will cut them lose in a heartbeat. So will Deen learn anything from this? Hopefully, she will learn that dropping the n-word can be costly.

Food Network fired Paula Deen…was this the right thing to do?

Paula Deen told the truth about her use of the n-word. She told her truth in a lawsuit, but that truth caused the Food Network to say today that they will not renew her contract. Was she wrong to make these comments? Of course she was, but should the Food Network have fired her? Share your thoughts.

Did Paula Deen leave the Today Show hanging?

Paula Deen loves to talk, but this morning The Today Show just announced that Deen’s scheduled interview might not happen this morning. She was supposed to talk about her use of the n-word in the friendly confines of the Today Show. She has been a frequent guest of the show and they consider her to be a friend of the show, but at this point she might not want to do too much talking. She probably has said enough.

Paula Deen admits using the N-word…raise your hand if you are surprised?

Paula Deen, daughter of the south, self-made fatback cooking millionaire has admitted under oath that she has used the n-word. She has used it in anger and she has used it conversationally. What part of this is surprising? Deen grew up in a south that called black men and women girl and boy from the time they were in the cradle until the time they took residence in the grave. Times have changes and language has changed, but she is a daughter of the old south, and that south yearns for a simpler time. A time when everyone knew their place and dressed accordingly. Deen supposedly wanted blacks to dress as servants at an event she was planning. So is Deen a racist? I don’t know and we would not know this about her if the court deposition had not become public. What would surprise you is to find out that some people you might call your friends use the word more often than you know. So do we boycott Deen? Start an online petition against her or simply chalk it up to how she was brought up? Share your thoughts.

Paula Deen Has type 2 Diabetes, she says she is a “Chef not a Doctor”

Paula Deen announced this morning on the Today Show that she has Type 2 Diabetes. She said that she was diagnosed three years ago. Al Roker asked her why did it take so long for her to make it public?Well, first of all she really has no duty to disclose her condition to the world, but most people think that the Queen of Heavy Cream did not want to risk her cooking empire by making the disclosure. She is now the spokesperson for a diabetes drug so she is speaking out. she is now compensated to have this heart felt conversation with the public. Deen loves butter, cream and sugar and she will continue to cook with them, but if you have Type 2 diabetes and you eat her concoctions at your own peril because she is not responsible for your health you are.
