NFL sees pattern of harrassment in Incognito Probe

Is this the player’s fault, the team’s fault or the league? Read the linked story and share your thoughts.

NFL player was being bullied you have got to be kidding

When I first heard that an NFL player was claiming to be the victim of bullying I must admit that I laughed. The thought of one of these huge mountain men being the victim of bullying seemed ridiculous, but the laughing stopped when I started reading the facts. Miami Dolphin Jonathan Martin claims his veteran teammate Richie Incognito has been brutally harassing him. The harassment has included racial epithets, threats of murder and threats to family members. The behavior went way beyond rookie hazing. The behavior seems almost criminal, but the big question for me is how did this terrorism go on without management’s knowledge? The Miami Dolphins are standing around looking stunned but they know what goes on in their own locker room. Bad behavior is an accepted part of professional sports. Richie Incognito was a leader in the locker room and he had power sanctioned by the team and he abused that power when he allegedly abused Martin. What makes this story different is it has gone from being an ESPN story to being a CNN story. Sure now there will be an investigation because we know about it. Martin left the team last week because he was done with it but he did not say why. Martin feared if he outed the team he might not be able to get on another NFL team. He was content to be silent until the Miami Dolphins dismissed the suggestion that there was something amiss in the team locker room. Martin’s agent produced voicemails that may be the thing that substantiates Martin’s claim. The sad thing is that NFL players around the league see this situation differently. Some thing Incognito crossed the line and other simply think this is normal locker room high jinks. It will be interesting to see if Martin finds another team. The word is the Miami Dolphins are cutting their ties with Incognito, but how will martin fare some will see him as a whiner, a snitch, not a team player and being a part of a team is why Martin suffered in silence.

Is it that hard to believe Evelyn Lozada is a victim of domestic violence?

Today I have read stories and watched sport shows discuss the Chad Johnson/Evelyn Lozada domestic violence incident. Johnson has been dropped by the Miami Dolphins and VH1 has announced that the reality show that featured both Johnson and Lozado has been shelved. but what is most disturbing is how so many people can not believe that Lozada is actually a victim. Lozada one of the stars of basketball Wives has been seen throwing bottles at her enemies and in on one case jumping across a table in hot pursuit of another victim. She has been an aggressive sometime violent bully on the show, but does that mean that she can not be victimized? I read a headline on The Grio website that read “Chad Johnson’s family heartbroken over Dolphins split, Lozada incident”. It leaves the reader wondering are they more heartbroken over Johnson’s loss of livilihood or loss of love? Right now we don’t know all the details, but it seems that some people can not picture this reality bully as a victim? Sadly, her reputation precedes her and for some people that’s enough to make them say “wonder what she did for him to head butt her?” What do you think? Can a bully be a victim?

What Should happen to an NFL coach who trips a player?

Sal Alosi is a coach on the New York Jets staff. Yesterday Alosi tripped a Miami Dolphin during a game yesterday. Alosi has apologized, “I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I spoke to (Dolphins) Coach (Tony) Sparano and Nolan Carroll to apologize before they took off. I have also apologized to (Jets owner) Woody (Johnson), (GM) Mike (Tannenbaum) and (Jets coach) Rex (Ryan). I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.” So why would he do it? Is this just the typical anything goes mentality that we see in our society? Should he be fired? Tell me what you think.

NFL No Name Player Channing Crowder Goes Way Off After Loss

I am a Baltimore Ravens fan. Today they beat the Miami Dolphins. It was the Dolphins first road loss of the season. So they were disappointed, but Channing Crowder took his disappointment to another level. I bet most of you never heard of Mr. Crowder until today. He claims at the end of the game Baltimore Raven Le’Ron McClain spat in his face. Crowder said “That’s some real s—. So if you talk to him, tell him he’s a ho. And if he ever comes to Miami, he’s got to see me.” Only he and McClain know what happened but, if McClain did do what Crowder claims it is funny that nothing transpired on the field. Yes, I know they would have been fined for fighting, but tell me what would you do if someone spat on you? Your reaction would probably be to immediately retaliate, but Crowder did not stop there. He went on to say something even more egregious. Crowder’s said he complained to the referees and they said ” something about they let [Dolphins linebacker]Karlos Dansby got away with a facemask the play before,” Crowder responded by saying,  “Who the f— cares? A guy just spit in my face! I don’t give a damn about Karlos pulling somebody’s facemask. Like they didn’t see [Dolphins quarterback] Chad Henne get hit twice when he slid. Yeah, a little Stevie Wonder and Anne Frank.” Anne Frank is the young girl Holocaust victim that wrote her moving diary detailing her days in hiding. When the press asked him about the reference he responded by saying Crowder said “Who was that? Is that the blind girl? Helen Keller … I don’t know who the f— Anne Frank is. I’m mad right now. F— it. I’m not as swift as I usually am.”*  The truest statement in this tirade is the last one. You are correct Mr. Crowder you are not too swift.
