In Our Society Anything Goes Except Christianity

We live in a society that pretty much accepts anything. We are willing to fight for the rights of all people, but is that really the truth? Why is it when someone expresses an opinion based on biblical principles that person is ostracized. Case in point Kirk Cameron. Cameron said that a man should be the leader of the family and that wives should be submissive and let him lead. This is an opinion that many people do not agree with and they have the right to that opinion, but why do they feel the need to vilify his? If you are not a Christian than his way is not your way but there are people who share his opinion and they deserve the respect and protection that we freely give to others who do not share conventional beliefs.

Why are Kirk Cameron’s Christian views seen as controversial?

Kirk Cameron is trending this morning for expressing his views on marriage. In this world his views are controversial but other things that were once regarded as controversial are the law. Read the article and share your thoughts.

Franklin Graham and Wells Fargo part ways over 2 mommies commerical

From Franklin Graham’s Facebook page:
Have you ever asked yourself–how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community? Every day it is something else! Tiffany’s started advertising wedding rings for gay couples. Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising. And there are more. But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them. At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank. And guess what—we don’t have to shop at Tiffany & Co., there are plenty of other jewelry stores. This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention. Share this if you agree.
What is Graham saying? He disagrees with the Wells Fargo bank’s stance on same sex relationships. This should come as no surprise to anyone. Franklin is a fundamentalist, strict construction Christian and it should come as no surprise that he would encourage his followers to follow his lead. This morning Whoopi Goldberg of The View took aim at Graham and she went as far as to question his Christianity. She has a right to her opinion just like Graham, but is it possible to disagree without the anger. It is possible to live in a world that respects everyone’s opinion not just the ones that agree with yours. Is this possible or does this thinking only exist in Utopia?

Note to the Duggars: If Your Brand is Purity You Better be Pure

Last week In Touch magazine broke the story of Josh Duggar molesting some young girls when he was a young teenager. His parents handled the matter as a family matter. They talked to a friend in law enforcement but there was never any formal adjudication of this matter. The parents protected their son maybe to the detriment of his young victims. The Duggars show 19 Kids and Counting is on hiatus with the possibility of cancellation looming. Over the weekend the big question was would TLC keep the show on the air, but the sponsors prompted by the consumers are speaking loud and clear. They are jumping off the show like rats abandoning the Titanic. No sponsors no show. Ever since we met the Duggars we have been served a heaping helping of purity on all levels. Well, if purity is your brand you better be pure. Christians are not perfect they are just forgiven. Questioning the Duggars is not an attack on Christianity. They are human and their actions deserve to be questioned. I believe Josh Duggar was forgiven if he asked for it, but forgiven in the eyes of God, and not guilty in the eyes of man are two truly different things.

Preach comes to Lifetime…Is it just another clown show?

Lifetime brought us Preacher’s Daughters. An attempt to show us PKs (preachers kids) were just like us or worse, and in June they bring us Preach. Female prophets putting on anther show filled with emotion for the public to view and mock. What’s the reason Lifetime has dived into the pulpit? Cheap show like this make money and cost nothing to make. So you ask WWJD not this.

Franklin Graham protests University of Maryland cancelling “American Sniper” because Muslim students complained

FRANKLIN GRAHAM’S FACEBOOK POST
Can you believe that the University of Maryland canceled a screening of the movie American Sniper after Muslim students complained? This afternoon, I’m going to meet with wounded military veterans and their spouses who served this nation with honor–fighting to preserve our freedoms and many times shedding their own blood. Chris Kyle was an American hero. It’s brave soldiers like these that make all of the freedoms we enjoy possible. Shame on the University of Maryland for listening to these voices! If these Muslim students can’t support the military members who do their job to protect us, let them leave America and go to a Muslim country. God bless America and our heroes! SHARE this if you agree.

I read the post above and I was struck by the venomous tone. Schools are a melting pot of races and nationalities and schools have to be sensitive to diverse communities. Muslim students complained to officials at the University of Maryland about American Sniper. Graham said if they don’t like it they need to go to a Muslim country. Well if this is where they were born they don’t need to leave their own country. There are movies that some groups applaud and others are offended by that same film and their feelings should be considered and not dismissed, and not told to take a hike.
