Last night I watched the first episode of the second season of WGN Underground. All the characters are back from last season and they are all in various stages of agony. What else could we expect? The story is about slavery and slavery was agony. So when did slavery become entertainment? The New Birth of a Nation, 12 Years a Slave or does it go all the way back to the romanticized slavery saga Gone with the Wind? Sure the acting is great but do we really want to watch the overseer hit the male slave and then he turns around and hits the female slave that he calls his woman? Is this the kind of thing we want to curl up and watch on a weekly basis? What do you think is this good entertainment or is this simply a sad tale that makes you angry or simply sad? Share your thoughts.
Are you ready for another round of Underground?
