The Donald Trump Era Really Begins Today

Yesterday a friend of mine asked me my opinion of the inauguration. I accept the reality of the Trump presidency but I have no intention of celebrating it. Trump won the election but this is a day for him and his supporters. Trump has already signed executive orders eliminating a program that helped first time homebuyers. He is doing what he promised and unfortunately what he promised is not going to be good for everyone. So eat, drink and be merry you won.

Today is not as much day for the victor and his supporters as it is for all of America.  The celebration highlights the peaceful transition of power which is still an oddity in much of the world. Most knowledgeable and mature adults respect and comply with this tradition irrespective of how their candidate fared. Trump did sign an executive order reversing one that Obama on his way out the door last week which would have been enacted without any analysis of it’s impact on the market.  One can only speculate why the Obama administration would enact policy during it’s final week without any conferring with the incoming administration which will have deal with any impact of that policy.  So, in reality nothing has been taken away from anyone that others have previously benefitted from.  As the saying goes “you don’t miss what you’ve never had”. But I’m sure you’re fully aware of these details.

Maybe 2017 can be a snark free year. Make your point minus the condescension and snark if possible.

It will only be possible if I’m aware of it. It’s no surprise that we have different world view so you can help me by pointing it out. But if you find stating the obvious as condescension, that’s going to be tough for me.
