Barack Obama and Donald Trump from Class Act to Class Clown

President Obama has lived the last 8 years under a microscope. Everything he did was analyzed, over analyzed and re-analyzed. He was accused of being a celebrity. When he went on late night talk shows he was accused of being undignified, but that was before we got the Tweeter-in-chief. He tweets about everything and nothing and his acts are labeled as a new way of handling the office. He is a new kind of president. Dignity is no longer a part of the discussion. He has a cabinet of millionaires and billionaires that are now charged with handling the problems of the masses. The masses they pass on the streets while riding in their stretch limousines. It is a new day in DC. Not a better simply a new day. Tonight I sit waiting for President Obama’s Farewell Address and I am saddened to see him go. He was and is a class act. It is sad to say his successor is not.

After eight years of failure by every metric, you obviously have yet to overcome the appeal of style over substance.

      No words.

I’m assuming “style” represents President Obama, and “substance” represents President-elect Trump. If my assumption is correct, I can see the analogy to “style”, but I’m not seeing the comparable analogy to “substance.”

The substance part is the ability to actually accomplish something.  While Obama has all of the charm of a homecoming king, he has accomplished nothing.  On the other hand, Trump is like a bull in a china shop but his accomplishments are endless.  In fact during the last two month since the election he has contributed more to the economy by way of persuading companies like Ford and Carrier to forestall moving their manufacturing facilities to Mexico.  This is even before being inaugurated.  Obama cannot lay claim to even one save during his entire tenure.  And there are many more credits already.
