Death of a Prince…Now the Questions

Yesterday the artist known as Prince died. We are all still in shock but it interesting to see how yesterday was all about the loss and today is all about the why. What happened? How did he die? Today people are talking about drugs in his system. Why do we build someone up and then try to demolish the icon created? Share your thoughts.

My thoughts are that there are people in this world who thrive on negativity and there are news media who look to that aspect of people’s character to make money. They know their audience. News media like TMZ who say on their site that they broke the Percocet story, so I sent them an email asking why they sent that uncorroborated news out so soon after Prince’s death. Let’s see if I hear back from them. Maybe the idea that there are some people who think their action is tasteless will throw a pall over their eagerness to print negativity.

I don’t understand what is unusual about the public’s reaction of raisings questions and speculating on possibilities of the cause of his death after absorbing the initial shock of the tragic news. Whatever is uncovered surrounding the circumstances of his death, if established as factual, will be just that; the facts of the case. The facts should not be obscured or unreported simply because the subject was an icon.
