Ted Cruz’ daughters are off limits, but he needs to keep them off commercials

When I heard the Washington Post had published a cartoon depicting Ted Cruz; daughters as monkeys I thought it was completely out of line, and then I saw the commercial. Politicians should not use their children to deliver political barbs towards their opponents. Don’t put your children in the line of fire.

Thank goodness these are not two black kids being depicted as monkeys. The clamors or racism would be endless. And what would the WAPO, which usually lead the charges of racism do? But I do feel that the active roles that the children played in that ad is inappropriate as opposed to a simple passive appearance.

The cartoon by the Times was inexcusable. I think the senator should get a pass- one time- before it’s open season on his children. In the future he may want to hire several actors to fill in. A politician reading to a bunch of kids is safer than risking personal attacks on his own children.
