Your question is meant to be provocative, right? Romanticizing slavery? Really? If his pointing out that the moral character of slaves was greater as demonstrated by procreating within the sanctity of marriage and maintaining a greater percentage of intact families, during a period when the families of slaves were often fractured as a result of the sale of family members is romanticizing then I say bring on the romance. For anyone who is unable to discern his point, he’s saying that obstacles don’t give us excuses to blame someone else for our circumstances.
