Two SAE OU students expelled over racist chant…was this the right decision?

Young people do stupid things and so often they have to deal with the consequences of their behavior. The two students leading the racist chant have been expelled. Does the punishment fit the crime? Share your thoughts.

I have seen TOO many people complain about “They have a right to free speech!” or “This violates their First Amendment rights!” Nothing could be farther from the truth. These young men exercised their right to free speech. Now WE have a right as a society to determine whether or not we want to associate with people who feel like they do. Clearly the university-which has the right to decide WHO attends and who doesn’t- has decided they do not want to associate with racists. These boys will have to try their luck at another institute of higher learning.
