Should all children receive the measles vaccine?

It is a yes or no question. As parents we make the health decisions concerning our children, but what if your decision has a detrimental effect on my child? Is that fair? I think children should be vaccinated what do you think?

Yes. Couple of points: is the average parent medically qualified? And, since measles is infectious, are parents of un-vaccinated kids prepared to move to a desert island?

No. I think parents have rights to decide what is best for their children. By the way, I vaccinated my children(except for HPV vaccine), but I waited and spaced out their shots. I also had a child that had a mild allergic reaction to one of the vaccines. I was given a hard time by doctors because I decided to wait to vaccinate my children 6months before they entered kindergarten, as a parent I come to a healthcare provider to ask questions, not to be berated when I have concerns about any particular procedure. No, I’m not medically qualified, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have the right to request vaccine inserts (to tell me what’s in the vaccine),so I can do my own research. We have to become more pro active when it comes to our health and our children’s health. There are families out there whose child has been severely hurt by these vaccines and they should be granted the right to opt out any of their future children. This whole debate is becoming scary because you have people talking about locking up parents who haven’t vaccinated their kids….America is slowly becoming a police state and now we want to become a medical police state…..Get out of here!
I’m thankful for the media for reporting on this story, but here are some of the things I want to ask the media: tell me how a New York city woman who was fully vaccinated was found out to be patient zero of a measles outbreak in 2011 or 2012….I believe the article was written in Time magazine. I also want the media to talk to some of these virologists that worked for Merck who claim that the company falsified test results. How many fully vaccinated caught measles at Disneyland and passed it on to other people fully vaccinated and non vaccinated? What about the fully vaccinated people who got measles last year in California that traveled to the Philippines….where was the large media coverage then? Do we as Americans need another booster or is there another strain of the virus? Just some questions I have as a citizen and we all should be asking questions and not just blindly going to get our shot.
