Marion Barry’s legacy should not be defined by his worst day

Marion Barry died this morning. He came from nothing and rose to be the most powerful local politician of his generation. In 1990 he was videotaped smoking crack with a FBI informant. Many believed and still believe he was a victim of entrapment. While many did not condone his behavior the way he was caught did not seem fair. Barry did a lot of living prior to the incident and after it and his legacy should not be defined by the worst day of his life. Share your thoughts.
