Amen! As you know, I too refuse to be called “African-American”. I am an American, born (by the grace of God) in TEXAS! I have never been to Africa, know nothing of the cultures that have existed there for years, and would consider it presumptuous to just “consider” myself “African”. Besides, in what world does it make sense for someone to say that a person 7, 8 or even 10 generations away from their nearest African ancestor can call themselves “African-American”, yet someone like Charlize Theron, who was BORN in South Africa, and became a US citizen, would not be able to call herself “African-American” because of the color of her skin? Go ‘head Raven! Please motivate your generation to clean up the foolishness that people like Jesse Jackson started with the “African-American” nonsense.
