Great article. Highlights my biggest issues with AP: 1) he lost a son to violence, so why wouldn’t it disgust him to use violence with his living children and 2) not just AP, but many pro athletes–black, white, and other– are raising rich children whose fathers are alive and well but are not a consistent presence in their lives. That’s almost as tough as being a poor kid without a dad.

On OWN Tv just this weekend Iyanla interviewed a man who fathered 32 children with 17(?) women. Are you kidding me? How in this day and age can a man who is not multimillionaire raise 32 babies and how stupid were the women after woman #3 to have a child with this man. AP and many athletes like him should realize that the most successful men MARRY and have their children in one home. Even if they are not married nothing GOOD comes of spreading your seed and hitting every woman raw. I can’t conjure up any sympathy for him either

I learned a lot today from the mainstream media. That’s unusual. My opinion of AP as a man is considerably lower, seeing that he seems to think he is breeding stock and not a human with responsibilities. I hope his recent marriage is for real, and he’s done sewing seeds. His NFL career will probably be over in the next 2-3 years due to age. Does he have his coins saved up to provide for this herd in perpetuity?

And let me be honest, I realize this article is written in the Detroit newspaper, and the Detroit Lions are conference rivals of the Vikings. There’s no altruistic basis for this article….
