In polite society there is no place for those words. They simply serve to divide. Words in a private conversation between or among a tight group of friends should be held to the “Vegas” standard of not being spread outside that group. My closest friends in college were a Hispanic guy, a Canadian, and a “mutt” white dude that even HE didn’t know his ethnic makeup. Part of what what we ribbed him about was his “lack of a culture”. We all laughed and played the dozens on each other regularly, and NOBODY took it personally. I noted the man who wrote the article was gay. He makes the same mistake as even some heterosexual people in trying to equate and compare race, gender and sexual orientation. They are not interchangeable.
