Was Candy Crowley wrong to fact check Mitt Romney?

Last night Mitt Romney said the President did not call the Libyan attack an act of terror until 14 days after the event. Romney thought he had the president between his crosshairs, but he was wrong. The president labeled the incident an act of terror the next day and the moderator CNN Candy Crowley confirmed it by doing a live fact check. Was she wrong to do this? Was this part of her role as a moderater? Share your thoughts.

She was very wron that was not her role. She voiolated her position as an unbiased moderator!!!! She needs to be disciplined and never allowed to moderate again!!!

The moderator has every right to moderate, which is exactly what she did.

She was wrong in doing so and wrong in her facts. Obama did not say it was a planned terrorist act. He said it was an act of terrior by a mob prompted by the You Tube video. If he admits it was a planned terriorist attack then his admin in responsible for the 4 American deaths. They, the admin, did not provide the extra security that was requested. The Obama team droped the ball and 4 were killed. He will not admit he or his team was at fault. The buck does not stop on his desk it just keeps on going.

    ahHell NO!

It’s called keeping to the facts, it’s the journalist’s job. She would have been remiss had she not.

That Ann is more creepy that Mitch.

It was not factual and misleading at best. The fact is this administration claimed that the attack in Libya was a spontaneous reaction from a group protesting a U-Tube video. There were in fact no protests going on at the time. It was in fact a planned attack. The president and the administration tried to cover up the facts for 14 days. This is worse than the Watergate coverup by Nixon where no one lost their life. The issue here is more about the cover up by the president than the use of the word terror.

    … should read

“That Ann is more creepy than Mitch.”

Nobody is saying it, but I believe that the reason women are trending towards Romney is because of his blond hair, blue eyed wife.

White folks may love President, but they have not reached the comfort level yet of having a strong, independent, brown skin woman in the White House.

      Quite a bigoted response Peoria!

I know, right, how dare I bring up race!

Crowley has since admitted that Romney was in fact right. Given this, she was definitely in the wrong, since she interrupted the moment to defend the president’s statement when her own statement was wrong, factually.

  • Mike M  On October 17, 2012 at 9:15 pm

Of course she was wrong to intervene on either side.
She is a moderator not a public defender.

Must the republicans consistantly act like the bully in the sandbox? She was not wrong Romney was wrong, are you kidding me? Choose something viable to discuss, You sad sack of loosers I will quote Vice President Biden “LOL”

I believe it was ok to do so. I’m kind of surprised that the left wing pundits didn’t spin it by stating that President Obama asked her to when he said “check the transcript.” For that matter the right could spin it by stating Crowley was so in the bag for the president that she provided the info just cause asked. Clearly I’ve been watching too much political news shows, I’m starting to think like them.

Not only has the nation read the transcript. The transcipt shows the President LIED (of course truth telling and principles do not matter because the most important principle is the color of his skin).

candy crowley is as stupid as she looks and also showed her bias and this is not the role of a moderator. She needs to be open minded and give each person their due time. She gave Obama over three minutes more than Mr.Romney. She should make a publice apology to Mr. Romney and the American people for allowing a Socialist more time than a true American. Shame on the media, their big thing is to attempt to swing their election and this goes for CNN,Cnbc , ABC and CBS. This is not fair to the American public. It would be nice if all of the news media would stick to the truth and not be biased. I am a veteran and I didn’t serve to protect the likes of a Socialist President and an out of whack news media.
