George Zimmerman will be released on $150,000 bond

Zimmerman will be freed on $150,000 bond which means he will have to post 10% of that amount, and he also will be able to live out of state. He will also be required to wear a monitoring device and he will be subject to curfew. What do you think?

The legal process presumes his innocence, so he shouldn’t be punished in advance by an onerous bail. If he can meet the bail, so be it. Not sure if $150,000 is enough bond (if that’s what you’re asking) but for second degree murder (the charge) it doesn’t sound unreasonable. The point of bail is that it be set at a high enough amount to ensure his attendance at trial. If he pays $15K and skips, the bail bondsman will do his utmost to get him back, because he’ll be the one out the $135K balance. The monitoring device will help that process.

I doubt that he is a current threat to public safety .

Beyond that , a bond is to ensure presence for pre-trial and trial appearances as necessary .

Were all citizens willing to let the rule of law run its course w/o threats to whites , blacks , colors inbetween , there would be no need for him to live out of state .The monitoring devices will enable the authorities to keep track of him .

So far it sounds like he’s getting due process. We need to keep emotion out of this and let the law work like it’s supposed to work.
