President’s Sings “Let’s Stay Together”, and sales go up almost 500%

Last week the president belted out a few of the lyrics of the Al Green hit “Let’s Stay Together” and the sales for the 1972 hit went up almost 500%. The president effectively provided Green with his own individual stimulus plan.

That demonstrates the power of the bully pulpit. He also implemented a stimulus program for Jan Brewer, governor of Arizona. Sales of her book are up 1.3 million percent since their tete-a-tete. I doubt that’s what he had in mind. Now if he only be even fractionally as effective with the economy.

Wow. Two words from the song and Al Green’s hit spikes 500%. I only hope that Rev. Green owns the royalties to that song. Unfortunately so many artists from the ’70’s and before don’t own the rights to the songs that made them famous.

It appears that both The Rev. Al Green and Al Jackson, Jr. still own a piece of their respective publishing rights in the song, so they should both be very happy that sale are up.
