Is the Youtube Sensation “S..t Black Girls Say” funny or offensive?

Black women are constantly being criticized. We are constantly depicted as angry, materialistic, selfish and basically difficult to get along with. This youtube clip is full of cliches that the director feels are constantly uttered by black women. He says it is funny but many find it offensive. Read the linked story and watch the clip and tell me what you think.

Read the linked story and watch the clip and tell me what you think.
DONE with read/watch. Thoughts in bold below.

“People need to laugh. When we laugh, we see each other better,” Sorrell said.
    TRUE

“While those images are funny to those of us who are well- educated, some young people don’t know how to filter the message,” said Benita Miller, founder of The Brooklyn Young Mothers’ Collective on Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill who counsels teen moms.
Educate the young teen moms needing counseling.

“Young people don’t know what is real or what is imagined,” Miller said. “When you work with young women they take on these characteristics.”
AGAIN. Educate the young teen moms needing counseling.

    Q.s
How did mothers feel after reading Swift’s A Modest Proposal ?

How did black Americans feel after reading Twain’s Huckleberry Finn ?

How did bureaucrats feel after reading Huxley’s Brave New World ?

How did government feel after reading Orwell’s 1984 ?

I watched the clip and only laughed once. Maybe I need to see the clip this one is based on, namely “S— Girls Say”. I guess I can say I didn’t find it to be either funny OR offensive. It’s only a matter of time until we see one about black men.
