Get your tickets to Obama The Tour

There are 4 weeks left until Election Day and the president is making the tour. He is appearing at universities, town halls, and backyards and he still can excite a crowd, but how does this translate into Democratic votes? It doesn’t and that’s a real problem. The president is an eletrifying speaker so people will come to see the show but it is going to take more than a real good talk to inspire voters to come to the polls. The primaries in my state drew less than 10% of the registered voters to the polls. People are discontented, disengaged and simply depressed and the majority of the people really don’t believe their vote will truly make a difference and that’s the real problem. In 2008 people were really ready for a change and they believed that Barack Obama was the change agent, but things have changed they are worse. I am not faulting the president because I don’t believe John McCain would have done any better, but some people are so disillusioned they don’t plan on going to the polls in November. I will be voting in November because if you don’t vote you have no right to complain. I won’t be at any of the president’s tour dates, but I will be going to the polls and I encourage others to do likewise.

EM I assure you I will make it to the polls and I will vote. Too many of my ancestors were legally and illegally kept from casting their ballots that I cannot justify sitting out even the most mundane election. President Obama needs help, and I’m going to do my best to get him as many moderates and conservatives as I can in Congress so he can get some common sense and sensible legislation he can sign. Now, if he decides he doesn’t want to do the right thing and sign bills that make sense, then I’ll have no choice but to work to get him OUT of the White House in 2012.

I wonder how many candidates will appear with Obama. Quite a few candidates are avoiding him when he shows up in their state.

I live in Texas and Bill White (Democrat) is running for governor here. When Obama visited Texas in August, White had scheduling conflicts **wink, wink** in other parts of the state and did not even have time for a photo-op with Obama.

I will be voting and my husband will be voting in November.
