Sarah Palin Calls the president’s Policies UnAmerican

Sarah Palin has made a career out of division. She smiles that happy, cheery smile as she plays to the paranoia of the faithful. She would be tolerable if she not only attacked policies, but if she offered solutions not just sound bites. Today Palin addressed a Tea Party gathering in Boston and she said “Is this what their ‘change’ is all about?  I want to tell them, nah, we’ll keep clinging to our Constitution and our guns and religion – and you can keep the change.” She went on to say  “I’m not calling anyone un-American, but the unintended consequences of these actions — the results — are un-American.” So it is insufficient to say I disagree with the policies of the Obama administration she has to demonize the messenger and call him un-American. This was the tactic used in the campaign to portray the president as not one of us, different and foreign. Fortunately the divide and conquer strategy did not work in 2008 and I pray it does not work in 2010.

How much more clearly could she have been? She said the “UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES of the actions were un-American. She was very careful to NOT call the president UN-American. But since that doesn’t fit the “Palin-hates-Obama” mold we should just ignore that? Palin has matured and changed from the woman she was during the campaign. You people on the Left don’t want to give her any credit for that. She could call Obama a “distinguished elder statemen” and you guys would STILL find reason to fault her. Her opinion of Obama’s policies are valid from her perspective. Growing government and making Americans more dependent on a large central government are NOT in keeping with the values that made this country great. The results of his well-intended but deeply flawed policies will be “un-American”. You may come to a different conclusion–this is America. But let’s not put words in Palin’s mouth that she SPECIFICALLY did not say.
