Wanda Sykes Went Over the Top with the Limbaugh Joke

The White House correspondent’s dinner was a hoot. It was fun to see the President just have fun. Wanda Sykes was the headliner and she was very funny, but she did go over the top. She said that Rush Limbaugh was one of the president’s chief critics and suggested that the president should check out Rush Limbaugh, and see if he was the 20th highjacker on the 9/11 flights. She said he probably missed his flight because he was strung out on drugs. Some in the crowd booed and others nervously laughed. This simply was not funny. It was in bad taste and it gives Limbaugh and his cronies fodder for their shows and their websites. Some things are off limits and 9/11 falls into that category.  Rush Limbaugh is in fact a hatemonger, but to compare him to the 9/11 terrorists who killed over 3,000 innocent Americans is way over the top.

I agree. I think SHE is a hate monger. Over the top. I sure hope all goes well for Obama. I am not a fan of Bush, but sooner or later blaming him won’t stick. Sure is a lot of arrogance and vanity flying around. So far, the word humble is not a good description of this administration. Starting to disappoint me.

    Thank You

Martin. You’re really going to call President Obama “arrogant”? Are you kidding me?!?
Sorry, Mom, I thought the joke was funny.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of hatemongering going around. Also, unfortunately, it appears that President Obama feels very comfortable about joining in. I honestly thought he was going to be different. Oh well, shame on me for thinking.

The torture jokes are sooooo funny. She should have added a few laugh lines about abortion.

Fun to see you guys crying because Rush got served some of his own medecine. This the same guy making fun of Micheal J. Fox Parkingson. And I guess that costly nation building started in Iraq has nothing to do vanity right? So disingeneous, that why they not coming back to power anytime soon.

      RIGHT ON!!!!

  • libhomo  On May 10, 2009 at 2:47 pm

Her jokes about Limbaugh were hysterical. Limbaugh is a known drug addict who has advocated harsh criminal penalties for every drug addict but himself. More importantly, Limbaugh hates America and what our country stands for just as much as bin Laden does.

Everyone who voted for this “change” is a moron. It is all the same thing all over again – unkept, unfulfilled promises. Can we please stop adoring Obama because he is part black. He is worse than Bush. For example, loaning $5 billion to GM only to watch them go bankrupt 1 week later and know they can’t pay the money back (STUPID!!). Thank you to all who voted for him for further ruining this country…Thank You very much. As well, please tell me what he has done other than spend money and create out-clauses for people and actually raise your taxes if you work 2 jobs (yes – his tax break is only for people working 1 job – you need to pay all back plus interest if you work 2 jobs). You are all morons and are furthering the racial divide in this country by focusing on Obama being a black man. How many black people voted in previous elections? He won because of his skin color, which is, in fact, racism – YES, it does go both ways. Don’t pass yourselves off as caring and involved when you weren’t involved until a black man was running for office.

    You are all hypocrits.

I think I need to restate the rules for comments on this blog. I do not mind posting opinions that oppose mine, but I will not post opinions that include personal attackes. We can disagree and not be diagreeable. So if you want to call me names don’t send it because it WILL NOT BE POSTED. This is not the blog for you. I am committed to CIVILITY, and if you are mean and angry and ready to insult don’t bother to post here!!!

Ebony Mom happy mothers day! I thought Wanda was wonderful and I loved her jokes.

  • ediva75  On May 13, 2009 at 4:54 pm

I don’t think she went far and overboard in her joking of “I hope his kidneys fail”. Shoot I personally hope his heart fails and I stand by that statement. Anyone who has spent 2 decades with bigotted, ignorant, divisive comments, has an entire network, a daytime show ditz on The View, an RNC Chairman, conservative politicians and an entire nutzo fanbase of so called “Real America” fools agreeing with and defending this waste of human existence deserves his heart to fail in my eyes!!!

Sorry but I don’t agree with you Ebony Mom on this and Wanda’s humor related to him didn’t stray off the cuff!!

Is it ok if I include your blog on my blogroll by the way?

  • musesofamom  On May 13, 2009 at 5:13 pm

Ediva, please include me on your blogroll and give me your blog address.

  • Not so SmartObama  On May 13, 2009 at 9:29 pm

So basically you allow hatred and ill will towards Rush Limbaugh and the left, but not any truth towards the right? Why run a political blog if you can’t take honest and true criticism? Where is your comment to ediva75 wishing Rush Limbaugh’s heart to fail? By allowing that and not negative comments towards Obama you have proved my point on hypocrisy. And to your point of hatred…it’s not hatred, it ie mere frustration. I have watched countless elections where minorities do not vote but yet once there is a black candidate they vote. I don’t care if you post this or not, and if you don’t it just goes to prove the stereotype that Liberals only want to hear themselves speak (Biden, anyone??).

So, please don’t comment on my post of attacking when this entire blogroll has posts of YOUR readers wishing ill will on someone’s health, if you do not comment towards them. If my comment was geared towards Limbaugh and not Obama and his army of follower ants would you have said anything????

Also, when is Robert Gibbs going to stop saying UM every two seconds in ALL of his press conferences….Great choice on speaker of the house…goes along with a terrible choice that is geitner.

As I have said before I will post opposing views as long as they are respectful. As I said in the orginal post I think Sykes went too far, not everyone agrees and I posted those comments. This is a pro-Obama blog so some things are not going to be posted here. There are plenty of anti-Obama blogs where hatred toward the president is welcome, but this is not the place.

  • Keith W.  On May 14, 2009 at 12:46 am

It is sad to see so much hatred from both sides. And yes, whether or not you accept the fact, it is hatred. It sickins my stomach. In my eyes, it is equally appalling to wish ill-will to Limbaugh and calling people morons just because you disagree with each other.
