Former first lady Barbara Bush was asked today if her son Jeb Bush should run for president. She said he was the best qualified but she said no. She said there are many talented families and people in this country and “we’ve had enough Bushes”. I agree with her and I think we have also had enough Clintons. What do you think?

Barbara Bush says “we’ve had enough Bushes”, and I agree
Jeb Bush takes aim at fellow Republicans…the president needs to send him a thank you note
Jeb Bush is speaking out, and his fellow Republicans do not seem to like what he is saying. Bush said today “Ronald Reagan would have, based on his record of finding accommodation, finding some degree of common ground, similar to my dad, they would have had a hard time if you define the Republican Party — and I don’t — as having an orthodoxy that doesn’t allow for disagreement,” Mr. Bush said at question-and-answer session with reporters and editors held Monday morning in Manhattan by Bloomberg View. Note to President Bush: Enough about Kanye West
President Bush has been out promoting his new book Decision Points. In it he responds to Kanye West’s assertion that the president did not like black people. West made these remarks in light of the Hurricane Katrina debacle. Bush says he is not a racist and he objected to West’s depiction of him. Let’s just say we agree that Bush is not a racist, but the truth and perception sometimes do not intersect. I remember watching the people of New Orleans and wondering how could our nation have failed our own people like this. I remember hearing Katie Couric, at the time she was still with the Today Show referring to American citizens as “refugees”, and I too believed that had these people not been poor black people the government’s response might have been a little swifter. West simply said what so many in the community believed in light of what we were seeing. So while we don’t believe Bush is a racist he did have a perception problem, and that was not created by West it was simply articulated by him.
Why would George Bush’s mother show him a dead fetus?
Preisdent Bush’s new book Decision Points is coming out this week. He chronicles a lot of events that shaped his life but one of them is down right disturbing. President Bush opposed abortion, but in the book he shared that as a teenager his mother suffered a miscarriage and she placed the fetus in a jar to take to the hospital with her, and seeing this fetus helped solidify his opposition to abortion. What???? Please tell me why would a mother show this to one of her children? To me this borders on child abuse. To place that kind of indeligble imprint in the mind of your child is simply cruel. There was nothing edifying about this act.
Matt Latimer’s Speech-less is An Essay in Disloyalty
Matt Latimer has written a book, Speech-less about his time as a speechwriter for former President George W. Bush. In the book he quotes the former president making several unkind remarks about the current president as well as presidential contenders Sen. McCain and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The remarks won’t be repeated here because I think there is something very disloyal about former insiders cashing in on private conversations. This guy was a part of the Bush team and privy to remarks that were made in private and should have been kept that way. President Obama make an off the record remark on Kanye West and that remark was tweeted everywhere almost as soon as he uttered it. The President would do well to share his off the cuff remarks with Reggie, his trusted aide. I take that back who knows Reggie might be working on his book in the next few years. There is really no loyalty in Washington as former President Clinton said “if you want a friend in Washington get a dog”.
