Fareed Zakaria suspended from CNN and Time magazine for plagerism…is the punishment enough?

We are taught from the time we are in high school not to use someone else’s words without giving them credit. We are told the consequences could be an “F” for the course or expulsion from the school. So today when I saw that Fareed Zakaria had admitted to having a case of the sticky fingers I wondered if he had skipped school the day plagerisim was explained. He lifted some passages from an article that originally appeared in the New Yorker and he simply got caught. Sure he apologized, but he got caught. If he had not been caught it would have been business as usual. So he is suspended from his television and his writng gig for 30 days. It will be interesting to see if he makes a comeback, but I hope over the 30 day suspension he will have an opportunity to reflect on lessons he shoul have learned in high school they stand the test of time.
