The media loves a story and they don’t mind spinning a narrative to get one. Over the past few days the story has been that Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2016. Clinton has been a Senator and now she serves as Secretary of State. By most accounts Clinton’s friends and enemies consider her to be an accomplished, formidable woman capable of great things, but author Ed Klein said on Fox News today that she is not looking good and he went on to describe her as “overweight”. How often do you hear a male politicians dismissed for his weight? Chris Christie is probably the lone exception, and what if Clinton has put on weight does that diminish her brilliance? Most women I know battle weight from puberty to the grave and this is sad but in most cases true. It makes one think of the I Have a Dream Speech. Martin Luther King wanted his children judged by the content of their character and not by their skin color. The 2012 addition would also say and not by their size, but for women that is truly a dream.
