The Gawker.com published a story from an anonymous source claiming to have had a one night stand with Christine O’Donnell. “The piece, entitled I Had a One Night Stand with Christine O’Donnell, was published on the site on Thursday, and concerned the events of an evening three years ago, when the author claimed O’Donnell, an acquaintance, had turned up at his home in Philadelphia and asked if she could change into her Halloween outfit – a ladybird. After persuading the unnamed author and his roomate to accompany her for drinks, O’Donnell had reportedly stayed the night in the man’s bed, though they had not had sex. (The man has since, perhaps inevitably, been named by a number of websites).”* The Gawker has been denounced for printing the piece by both liberals and conservatives. The story should have never been printed but we are now living in a time when sensational sells and the more sensational the more sales. The more sensational on a website and the more hits and clicks come to your site. No one seems to care if reputations are destroyed that’s simply collateral damage. So often I have heard people say that conservative women are subjected to much harsher treatment. I never gave it much credence until this week. If O’Donnell was a Democrat would they have printed the piece? Would there have been more public outcry regarding Joy Behar’s bitch comment it Sharron Angle were a progressive? Two things I know: I do not agree with either of these women on policy issues, but as a woman I am offended by the treatment they are receiving by the media.

SNL Parodies Christine O’Donnell’ “I am not a Witch” ad
Last night SNL took a stab at Christene O’Donnell’s I am not a witch ad. Sure this is funny, but it is also sad. When we look at the people running for office do you think they reflect our best options? Or have we created a system that scares some candidates away from it. If you run for office now the media and your opponent will immediately start looking for kinks in your armour, and a lot of qualified, viable people simply will not subect themselves or their family to the scrutiny. So we end up with loons and losers. Don’t get me wrong I am not calling O’Donnell either of the names, but what I will say is the founding fahters have to be turning over in their graves as they look at the candidates that will represent the interests of the people.
Christene O’Donnell says “I am not a witch”, but is she fit for the Senate?
Christene O’Donnell has come under intense scrutiny since winning becoming the Republican candidate for the Senate from Delaware. She has an extensive media paper trail and a lot of her past statements have come back to haunt her, but do her past staements reflect who she is today? Some of them are from just 4 years ago. Some voters identify with her and in her commercial she says she will govern like they would, but is that what the voters want? Tell me what you think.
In 2007 Christine O’Donnell said mice with human brains existed…should this woman be a senator?
My grandmother used to say “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”. Which simply meant be very careful what you do when you are mad. This year voters are said to be very angry, but does that anger warrant electing people who are clearly a little off the rails. Over the weekend Bill Maher released a tape that showed Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell saying she dabble in withcraft as a youth. Her supporters said she had done this while a teen and she should not be held accountable for the indiscretions of her youth. Well, now a tape showing her being interviewed in the friendly confines of Fox News and she declares the existance of mice with human brains. This tape was made in 2007 so she was a grown woman when she made these statements and she was introduced as a Republican strategist. So is this what she really believes? If so I would say to the angry Deleware voters “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.”
