Abercrombie and Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries says no fatties allowed

Did not know until yesterday that Abercrombie and Fitch carry dress sizes up to 10 and the average woman is a 14. They do not carry XL for women because they do not want plus size, over size, pleasingly plump or fat people shopping in their stores. They want that elusive All American cool, slim person with a pocket full of cash. So what’s the big deal? Lane Bryant is a store designed for plus size women. There are many stores designed for Big and Tall men. We call them speciality stores, but we call what want to label the Abercrombie model discrimination? What do you think? Read the linked story and share your thoughts.

I buy my son’s clothes from Hollister/Abercrombie and Fitch/Ralph Lauren/Wal-Mart etc., but I buy my clothes from Lane Bryant because I am a thick woman and cannot wear cheap clothes in quality. I see nothing wrong with what Abercrombie/Fitch is saying because I buy what’s on sale/discount and get a discount from whoever sells what we want at the time and whoever can meet my budget. But if I like a shirt that Hollister or A and F has and they don’t have my size, I just move on to the next store and who has a sale.

This guy has serious issues about himself and body image which is why I think he’s hardcore about promoting this “ideal” image for Abercrombie & Fitch. Like really, the things that goes on in his private spear…eccentric is putting it lightly.

While it may sound discrimination, and is …probably, it is their store and they have their right. In all reality Americans in large numbers, pardon the pun, are overweight and have health problems as a result. We do need to lose weight, as a Nation and as individuals, so maybe we should take this as a wake-up call.! Really, too, those tiny dresses on a plus-size would not be attractive or modest. They really aren’t modest on a thin girl ! A lot of money, very little garment and made in China!?
