Essence seems to be shedding editors like a cat sheds fur. Why do editors have such a short shelf life at the magazine. Essence stills says it is “Where Black Women Come First.” Is this still true. My subscription ended with the current april issue and I have been pondering whether it is worth renewing, and in light of this situation I might be labeled as former subscriber. One has to wonder about the future of a magazine targeted at black women, but the black women “in charge” seem to be muzzled by the corporation that owns the magazine who are in fact really in charge. Read the linked story and share your thoughts.
