Jmyha Rickman had a tantrum at school. She has had tantrums before but this time the police were called to the school. by her family’s account she had her hands and her feet cuffed and she was taken to jail, but did Rickman exhibit bad behavior or criminal behavior? Should her parents have been called prior to law enforcement? What do you think?
Jmyha Rickman, an 8 year old girl arrested and taken to jail for having tantrum at school…did the police go too far?

There is not enough information to offer a meaningful response .
¿ How many prior ”tantrums” were performed ?
¿ What contact was there between parents and school on prior tantrums ?
¿ What is meant on this instance of “tantrum” ?
¿ What activity is meant by tearing up classroom ?
¿ Was her conduct endangering herself ?
I do not recall every moment of the third grade (but do recall a specific moment) , but not one of my classmates had one tantrum , let alone multiple tantrums .
Were the child our child , there would be meaningful discipline after the FIRST tantrum , designed to guide the child towards civil behavior .
@ Docile: the answer to those questions is: IT DOESN’T MATTER. If you can’t handle an 8 year old w/out calling the police, you need a new job. Children do not deserve to get treated that way.period. What if it was YOUR child?
jeanette u are a typoical leftie. Kudos for arrestig that brat.
the cops did the right thing. discipline is frowned upon by liberals.
There is always….ALWAYS…someone in the crowd who can get a traumatic child to settle. This is Unacceptable, inexcusable, inappropriate behavior on the school officials and the arresting officers part.
nope the behavior was appropriate. u are excusing the behavior li ke a typical leftie
