No. They have their math wrong. It’s FAR more than 20 years.
SI, the sad truth is that a great percentage of unwed teenage fathers take no financial responsibility for their babies for any period of time. And those who do on average contribute less than $800 period year in child support payments.
These adverts portray children as a negative and in turn foster abuse of children. When are we going to elevate parenting as the toughest, most rewarding experience in which a human will ever participate? Maybe then future generations will see procreation as the sacred act as it was designed to be.
I agree that the ad seems to present children as a burden rather than portraying them as a blessing as they were originally intended (Psalm 127:3-5).
Carolss, children ARE a burden. One that a loving mother and father should undertake willingly and not without forethought. Too many people enter into this too lightly, what with people like Kanye West saying he “wished he’d had a baby” with his former girlfriend. Pop stars might be able to afford such dalliances, but the average joe or josie cannot. Guys that “hit it and quit it” for the sake of sexual release or to prove their “manliness” need to be educated in every possible way that they will pay the piper for their recklessness.
