In a word: NO. I saw Django, and up until about the last 10 minutes it was fine. It is no surprise to anyone who has studied history that the “N” word was used pretty frequently during slavery, and for many years after. (Perhaps if schools weren’t so focused on teaching man made climate change destroying the planet and the evils of religion, they might have time to cover history.) I don’t use the word myself, and I think until “we” stop using it to refer to ourselves, we don’t have a monopoly on it. We cannot have it both ways, either the word shouldn’t be used, or it’s no big deal when someone NOT of “the struggle” uses it. I prefer nobody use it, except in historical context like the recent movies “Lincoln” and yes, “Django Unchained”.
