Governor Nikki Haley has chosen Rep. Tim Scott as the replacement for Jim DeMint. While I do not agree with Scott’s political stance it is quite an accomplishment for a black man to sit in the hallowed halls of the Senate. This is a noteworthy accomplishment.

EM, I suspect you agree with Scott more than you disagree. You both believe in faith, personal responsibility, being fiscally responsible, the list goes on. I will continue my mission to persuade the black community that we have more in common with the Republicans than we do the Democrats. I admit the Republican ‘brand’ is badly tarnished and torn and needs to be refurbished. Until we do it will be a frustrating experience to see one major party ignore us and another party take us for granted.
