Our Hearts are Broken, but what will we do about it?

connecticut shooter

Early this morning I  heard there was a shooting at a school in Connecticut. When I heard it there were very few details shared with the audience, but when I returned later this afternoon I was shocked and saddened like the rest of the country.  The shooter took the lives of 20 children and six adults. He even killed his own mother.  We have seen killings at the movies, the mall and the schools. We are appalled at this tragedy, but we should also be appalled at what we seen going on in cities like Chicago. This year in that city over 500 people have been killed. tonight we will collectively grieve for the victims and we will hug our own children a little tighter tonight, but what will we do next?

Here we go, another call for MORE gun control. Regardless of how it’s dressed up, “sensible gun control laws” usually resorts ina cry for some sort of confiscation of firearms that “people don’t need”. Firstly, who are YOU to tell me what I “NEED”? Secondly, the only people who will comply are the vast majority of law abiding citizens who are not shooting up schools. The saying “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns” rings true. The criminals ain’t giving up their guns! Also, the notion of “fewer guns = fewer crimes” isn’t the case. Chicago, Washington D.C and other liberal-run cities have instituted gun bans and they are the highest crime and murder rate places in the country. Each year Americans use firearms to defend themselves from attacks 2.5 MILLION TIMES. You don’t see it in the news because the defendants don’t go running to the news cameras seeking acclaim. They re-holster their firearm and go on about their business.

The problem is not the gun, it’s the lack of training and respect our society has for them. More people die in automobile accidents each year, yet there is no hue and cry to outlaw automobiles. Every high school student who wants to drive has to take driver’s education, followed by driver’s training, pass a test and (here in California) drive under supervised conditions for a year. When it comes to firearms most people get their training from rap videos, movies, and “Grand Theft Auto”. Enough already!

Re-institute proper firearms training like we used to get back in the day from father to son, and I think we will see fewer and fewer mass shootings.

As a parent, I was horrified and sicken by the tragedy. This week in China 20+ children were stabbed by a man that went into a school.
Guns, knivies (whatever the “tool”), what can be done if a person has it in his/her mind to do harm. I can call the authorities and say, So and so is saying off the wall stuff (threats, dillusional, etc), there isn’t much they can do unless that person actually does harm.
So as you asked, What do we do?

MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR DEAR ONES. I ALSO PRAY GOD TO GRANT THOSE BEAUTIFUL SOULS THE WORLD LOST LAST NIGHT (NIGERIAN TIME) PEACEFUL REPOSE.

BUT I MUST ADD THAT IT IS TIME AMERICA RE-EVALUATE THEIR VALUE SYSTEM. FOR MOST OF WHAT AMERICA STANDS FOR IN TODAY’S WORLD ARE QUITE GROTESQUE, DISGUSTING AND READILY BREED VIOLENCE. IT IS UNIMAGINABLE THAT PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS COULD GO TO THE GUN-SHOP, BUY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS, KEEP THEM AT HOME AS DECORATIONS OR GO ABOUT WITH THEM AS ORNAMENTS. TO US IT IS SICKENING AND REVULSIVE, BUT TO AMERICA IT IS “FREEDOM” AND “CIVILIZATION”.

AMERICA PERMITS A MAN TO LIE A FELLOW MAN AND LIKEWISE WOMEN. THIS THEY SAY IS “FREEDOM”. SOON AND VERY SOON, BEFORE THE END OF THIS CENTURY, AMERICA WILL PERMIT AND LEGALIZE FATHERS ENTERING THEIR DAUGHTERS AND LIKEWISE MOTHERS TO THEIR SONS. THOSE OF US WHO SHOW REVULSION ARE DUBBED “UNCIVILIZED” AND IN “BONDAGE”. AND WHAT DO YOU GET FROM THESE ? A SOCIETY WHERE MAJORITY ARE PSYCHIATRIC CASES.

MAY I CALL ON NIGERIANS WHO SHIP THEIR WARDS TO THAT GOD-FORSAKEN COUNTRY FOR EDUCATION TO BRING THOSE KIDS HOME WITHOUT DELAY. IT IS WORSE TO LIVE WITH THE DAILY NIGHTMARE OF THOUGHTS THAT YOUR WARD CAN BE CRATED HOME RIGOR MORTIS FROM THE LAND WHICH CHOSEN PATH TO FREEDOM IS SO ABSURD THAT IT TURNS 9 OUT OF EVERY 10 CITIZEN A MENTAL CASE. LEAN FREEDOM AT HOME IS BETTER THAT FAT SLAVERY ABROAD.

Okey, you’re all over the place. Half of your post makes sense, the other half shows that you do not know my country very well. Judging my country by what you read in the news and see on”Desperate Housewives” and reality TV is convenient, but wrong. I occasionally bring up the Nigerian internet scams your country is infamous for, but I know that they are the exception and not the rule for your nation. Same applies here. The tragedies you see are anomalies. The VAST majority of gun owners here are peaceful and responsible. My father has at least two firearms, and I’ve NEVER seen him use them. That’s the rule here. My neighbors have no clue how many firearms I have. I don’t brandish them. Do some more reading and get a more balanced look at my nation before you think that “9 out of every 10 citizen” is a mental case.

Now the sexual debauchery thing? Yeah, I think you’re dead on there. Before the end of this century my country will be undermined by it’s lack of morality and inability to control its sexual urges.
