I read the linked story and watched the video tape and I must say the behavior of Denise Helms is disturbing. She expressed her sentiments on Facebook and has since been fired from her job. She wrote that she hopes the president is assasinated during his second term. She also referred to him as a the n-word. I can understand people being unhappy because Mitt Romney did not win but I can not understand helms cavalier attitude when asked about her assasination comment. Yes it is indeed a crime per US Code Title 18 Section 871: “Whoever knowingly and willfully..threat[ens] to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States…or knowingly and willfully otherwise makes any such threat against the President…shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”

IMO , she did not THREATEN to take the life of anyone , let alone the POTUS .
Apparently so, the Secret Service is now investigating. She may not be racist but just found the stupidest way to get attention.

It is better , in this case , to investigate when it is needed not than to fail to investigate when it is needed .

FIrstly, let me be clear that I do not use N****R in my vocabulary; that I feel it’s just as wrong for a black person to use it if it is wrong for a white person to use it. I see that this woman has lost her job at the Cold Stone Creamery where she was a manager. I find it odd that the NAA(L)CP feels the need to inject itself into this. The owner of the store didn’t say this. He (or she) didn’t impose this belief on this woman. If I were the owner I would decline the “opportunity” to have the NAA(L)CP come and give me a lecture on civil rights, while gaining a photo op for themselves.
