Using little children to beg for votes is a sad commentary.
Really that’s how you saw it. I saw it as young children enthusiastically encouraging adults to vote. Not saying any particular person, but to just vote.
“You’re A Citizen Now”?? Sounds like someone’s after the Hispanic vote. and then the Capts on Democracy? Well, if the kids has written the song it would have been authentic.
Looked like a creative and engaging way to expose children to the voting process. The lyrics of the song made for several teaching moments with the students. No begging. Non-partisan, just engaged students who appeared to enjoy the “assignment”. Nothing sad about that.
