This Wednesday night will be ther first of three presidential debates, but will they really make a difference? At this point in the season are there really any voters who have not decided who they are going to vote for? Both candidates had the opportunity to sell their ideas at their respective conventions, and most pundits say that the President actually benefitted more from his convention than Mitt Romney, but that’s history now. Now we are almost one month from Election Day and the reality is the country is facing two wars and a sagging, but recovering economy, but is that enough to re-elect the President? The Romney candidacy has its own problems and it was recently rocked by the secret tape in which Romney characterized 47% of Americans as “victims”. Will America elect a man who effectively has written off half of the country or will America re-elect a president with an unprecedented 8% unemployment rate? America has a tough choice to make on November 6th. We have an incumbent president saddled with a bad economy and a challenger challenged with the perception of being out of touch with the common folks. How will Americans decide which one of these men is up to the challenge, and will the debates factor into their decision? My question is have you made up your mind? Will you be watching the debates? Will the debates factor into your decision? Do you believe there are still undecided voters up for grabs? Do you believe that good debate performance by Mitt Romney could give his campaign a bounce? Which candidate has more to lose in these debates, and lastly in this social media age are televised debates the most effective way of communicating with the majority of Americans?
Will the Presidential Debates change the hearts and minds of the voters?
