Well, what are the party’s options? Admit that under Obama the deficit increased faster in the last three years than it did in the previous eight? Acknowledge that unemployment has persistently stayed over eight percent? Explain how the president squandered his filibuster-proof majority during his first two years to pass a health care plan that was so one-sided that it didn’t draw a single bipartisan vote? No, better they stick to obfuscation and misdirection.
