Liz Cheney accuses the president of abandoning Czechoslovakia…that country has not existed in 20 years

Liz Cheney accused the president of abandoning Czechoslovakia. Really…that’s impossible since that country has not existed for 20 years. Cheney was defending Mitt Romney’s reaction to the Embassy murders she said the following,”I think he did get it right,” Cheney insisted. “We’ve now had three and a half years of Obama policy and it looks an awful lot like — whether you’re talking about the Mexico City speech in 2009, the Cairo Speech in 2009, the extent to which he’s been apologizing for America, he’s abandoned some of our key allies like Israel, Poland, Czechoslovakia. He’s attempted to appease our enemies, the Iranians, for example, the Russians. … The president himself has got a terrible record on national security, and it’s clearly something that Gov. Romney ought rightly to be pushing.” Read the linked story and share your thoughts.

Gotcha! This is a really pathetic and vapid criticism. Rather than refute the veracity of Cheney’s charge against the president, they distract from the validity of her charges by pointing out her misstatement. Yes, I’ll call it a misstatement because the current iteration of that divided country is Czech Republic and Slovakia. Pretty close to Czechoslovakia, huh?

I do far worse. I still on occasion call the Nissan automobile Datsun. That name change occurred in 1984, almost thirty year ago. Oh well; I guess all the really smart people are on the left.

Your amazement rings false from the party that spent an evening of their convention talking about you didn’t build that. They knew what the president meant but that did not stop them from hammering him with his words. So when Liz Cheney is wrong it’s not a gotcha moment it is someone parading around giving wrong information and it will be talked about.

OK, then she’s really ignorant, uneducated and stupid.

THAT BEGGARS THE QUESTION. YOU CANNOT PUT SOMETHING ON NOTHING AND EXPECT ANYTHING TO STAND. IF AN A CHARGE LACKS VALIDITY, IT IS NO USE INVOKING VERACITY TO SUPPORT THE CHARGE EXCEPT IN THIS ‘EXERCISE BRING OBAMA DOWN’ WHERE ANYTHING IS A FAIR GAME.

HUH? Something lost in the translation, maybe?

That’s so true, according to no less an authority than Rick Santorum….
