Why Do We Feel the Need to Make Dreams Collide?

A friend of mine posted this picture on Facebook. I found it striking, but also disturbing. Disturbing because I wonder why do people seek to create corelations that really don’t exist? The need to create a kinship that is a product of fantasy. The picture of Coretta King captures a moment in history. She was at the funeral of her husband a slain civil rights leader, but she was also mom to a little girl who probably did not understand what was going on. This was a moment in history. So to pair it with a picture of the current First Lady at some unnamed venue with her restless daughter does not unite the two women. That simply can’t be done, and frankly it should not be done.
