A Sad Fraternity…Men is Wheelchairs due to Gun Violence

I read this article in the Washington Post today, Bound by Survival, the story of young men who were shot and now are confined to wheelchairs. They are part of a weekly support group. The other thing the young men share is the fact that they did not finish school and if they did they have few or no job prospects. The cost of their care is paid mostly by Medicare and Medicaid. So they are basically supported by government checks and they are very young. What will happen to them if their care is turned over to the state or in their case to the district? The other thing I wonder is are they registered to vote? Read the linked article and share your thoughts.
