Why did Bebe Winans sing at the RNC convention?

Twitter is abuzz with the question why did Bebe Winans sing at the convention? Here is the answer in his own words.
“I want to remind people that before any association with any party that we’re all Americans,” he told The Washington Post of the unpaid gig. “No matter who wins, if we don’t come together and really invest in the country we love, we’re not going to solve the problems.” Words to live by, but Winans needs to be prepared because not all of his fans are this evolved.

What does it say about a party that is populated with members who would be upset about something like this? Like Artur Davis, I used to be a member of the Democrat party and determined that I did not want to be affiliated with a party that has values that have evolved to be almost totally contrary to mine.

I am making the assumption that these comments came from members of the opposition party. Remember, this is the party of tolerance.

Americans pay big $ to watch experts dance to Swan Lake , and there is not much fuss about viewing music of Russian origin .

Winan’s fans could stand to learn that music is to be appreciated for its value.

So sorry that this is how you decided to show how American you are. Just another Black man being used. Shame on you!

he has set the nation back hundreds of years. Christian people of color will follow this “uncle tom” mentality. We have failed to take up where African fore fathers in America left the fight. You are delusional if you think we have progressed so far as to perform for a group of people who hate the color of your skin for free. Are you kidding me? This is porch monkey behavior, and a perfect display of the results of whitewashing. Belefonte said it best when he spoke of Jay-Z, and Mr. I imagine his religious views influenced his decision to perform. He has obviously forgotten where we come from. There are better ways to demonstrate your love for the oppressor. You are not a part of the 1%. It’s time to wake up…

To Black folks who were born in America, I ask, many countries are there in Africa? In fact,(uh! Uh! Uh! No goggle cheating!) name five African leaders, and while you are at it, how many African immigrants have you reached out to when they came here in search of a better life? Yep..a better life.
Truth is..you hate yourselves so much that you lash out at others who are truly comfortable with themselves…really comfortable.

Do yourselves a favor and look at how your half-white President, whose best friend and golf buddy is white; his “relevant surrogates” are white; his “inner circle” advisors are white; his cabinet is whiter than his predecessor’s; his embarrassing efforts to tag George Clooney as his new best friend; his photo ops with the “white baby” and little chubby white boy; his insulting admonition to you (black) people about eating fried chicken; his admonition to th Congressional Black Caucus about “whining and complaining” and on an on.

After this self-examination, do you still believe that this man is worthy of sinking in the gutter to defend? More important, since he thinks he is God, have you forsaken your own for him?

It is sad to read the vitriol spewed in all of these blogs that President Obama seemed to have the power to extract from so many Americans!

Bebe Winans is a class act American! It is pathetic to see how mindless and shallow his critics are…shallow because many of you would not have voted for Barack Obama if he LOOKED and sounded like Al Sharpton..and therein lies the self-hate.

I did not proof, edit or spell check my comment so go for it!
