Clint Eastwood, RNC and the Empty Chair

Last night one had to wonder what were the RNC officials thinking when they put Clint Eastwood on the stage with an empty chair. What we witnessed was painfully, pathetic. Eastwood seemed to be an old man raging against imaginary enemies. Eastwood endorsed Mitt Romney last month in Idaho, and the Romney people believed he would deliver similar remarks to the crowd last night. Last night I read something that puts the cap on this fiasco, always give an actor a script.

Clint Eastwood is a seasoned veteran and an icon. It’s amazing how much the left values the creativity of the arts until one of their own has been assailed. He’s now the bumbling old uncle in the attic who is battling an imaginary enemy in an empty chair. I think he reasoned that if you don’t have the empty suit present then substitute an empty chair.
