(CBS News) “Republican Rep. Ron Paul, the libertarian leader who competed against Mitt Romney in the GOP primary, isn’t speaking at the Republican National Convention because he isn’t willing to give Romney his full endorsement, Paul told the New York Times. In an interview with the Times, Paul said that he was offered an opportunity to speak at the convention this week on two conditions: that he let the Romney campaign vet his speech, and that he give Romney his full support. He declined the offer. “It wouldn’t be my speech,” Paul said. “That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president.” As Romney prepares to officially accept the Republican presidential nomination at the convention in Tampa this week, his campaign has been making amends with the Paul campaign and its ardent supporters. For instance, the Romney campaign this week will show a short tribute film about the libertarian-leaning congressman. And while Paul will not address the convention, his son, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, will deliver a speech.” I think Ron Paul’s stance is worthy of respect. Just because one cadidate garners enough delegates to win the nomination does not mean that his opponents should join in lock step with him. What do you think? should Ron paul give Mitt Romney a full endorsement for party unity? Share your thoughts.
Ron Paul does not fully endorse Mitt Romney is this a problem?

If he wants to be a team player, he really should. However, I respect his principled stand. We should not be all like sheep. I probably would have done what he did.
I’m not totally convinced that the republican party in general likes Mitt Romney. It seems as if that’s who won the nomination, and that’s who they are stuck with. Ron Paul is just being honest.
It is totally irrevelent whether or not Ron Paul or the Republicans in general are totally supportive of Romney. There is no chance that anyone will sit out the election because of it.
I would have been very disappointed if Ron Paul had endorsed Romney. I was when Rand Paul did, though at the same time I can see why he felt doing so was necessary.
