Mitt Romney prepares for GOP convention by giving a nod to the Birthers

Today Mitt Romney while stumping made the following statement “No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate,” Romney said. “They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.” Romney is preparing for next week’s GOP convention so it looks like he is getting into form. This statement is a blatant appeal to the birthers who have found a comfortable home among the Republican Party. The reality is he does not have to give them a nod he already has their vote. They hate the president one would think he would spend his time trying to attract new people to the tent, but he seems content just winking at the ones that are already in the tent.

The whole birther issue is one of the main reasons why I just can’t take the Republican party seriously. Sorry.

Can’t blame him for gathering up his votes. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Can’t wait to hear your take on the Republican convention!

I don’t think Romney is a racist or a birther. He is a rich man that does not mix with people below a certain economic level. That group of people, since we all live in a majority white country, are white. However, fanning this birther nonsense is typical Mitt. Say anything, do anything just to become president. From MA, he has always acted entitled to this office.

God help us all when he unleashes his arsenal of money, and Rove and his anonymous billionaires release their own “weapons”— I will probably stop watching TV. Not that TV has much to offer, after you see some housewives fight and pull their wigs, its all the same blur of attacks, big earrings and acting like animals. So TV. might be restricted to PBS until after the elections. :)

I think supporters of the president would better serve their cause by ignoring silly comments emanating from the Romney camp and focus on the president’s accomplishments over the last four years. Second term presidential candidates typically remind the electorate of how he has improved their lives and promise four more years of more to come. Oh wait! Nevermind!
