Yesterday we took a drive to my son’s college and on the way back we listened to a portion of Michael Savage’s radio show. Not a fan of conservative talk radio, but sometimes when you are on the road you have limited options. My husband said don’t you want to hear what the other side is saying? So we listened. The beginning of the show featured a clip from President Obama, but underneath the clip you could hear another vile, profane clip of men saying they wanted to kill white people. This was a clip of the New Black Panthers which probably have a total of 20 members in the entire country, but they got major air time on the Savage show because they help further the narrative of be very afraid. Savage also told the story of a white guy that was beaten up by six wild black guys and for good measure he threw in the deranged man that walked into the Family Research Center with intent to kill, but his efforts were thwarted by the security guard. Savage managed to somehow connect all of these various acts to the President, and the only answer to this was to defeat the president. His line of logic was absolutely jaw dropping. The president does not scare me, but I must admit Mr. Savage did because he sounded so convincing and as a master storyteller who has a national platform he has the ability to change hearts and minds on a daily basis, and that is scary.

President Obama has not done anything but divide this country and set us back 50 years with race relations. There are plenty of black conservatives. (On a side note, have you ever read Kevin Jackson’s blog, The Black Sphere? http://theblacksphere.net/ He is a conservative who is funny and intelligent. Check him out.)
What do black conservatives get for their beliefs? Abuse from the left and told they are not “black enough”. Funny thing is when Nancy Pelosi attacks Santorum, (or vice versa), they do not call each other “bad italians”.
It’s called a double standard, Sarah Palin was blamed for Rep. Giffords shooting. What happens when it happens to be a conservative group that is attacked? *crickets* The national media barely covered it.
Conservative radio, and I am no fan of Mr. Savage, is no more scary then liberal radio. *There going to take away birth control….oh the horror!*
Now enough of the smoke and mirrors, our priorties need to be JOBS, THE ECONOMY, AND OUR NATIONAL SECURITY!
AS A BLACK IN NIGERIA, THIS IS VERY HEART WRENCHING FOR ME. IT IS WORRISOME THAT IN THE BATTLE TO DEFEAT THE MAN IN BLACK SKIN ALL IS FAIR GAME. BLACKS IN AMERICA SHOULD COME TO NIGERIA WHERE UNFETTERED OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND FOR EVERY ONE. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO ESCAPE RACISM.
I don’t wish to defeat anyone. I wish equal opportunity for everyone.
I want school vouchers for kids in the inner city so they can get an excellent education.
I want to help single moms (and dads) with daycare and schooling so they are able to get marketable job skills that offer upper mobility.
I want everyone to have a chance for a happy life, but they need to work for it too. The same way we all do.
After all, our constitution says we all have the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. To me, that means we need to make our life better, not wait for the government to step in and do it for us.
