Let’s say this again for the people in the back of the room depicting black people as apes is not a good idea under any set of circumstances. This is an issue not up for debate.

I have read a few articles and watched a sports special about the racism in world soccer. It is out of control.
“Fans” will throw bananas on the field when there are black players during games. They say racist chants and will have banners with racist slogans.
It seems officials are cracking down at the player level, fines and suspensions against players and coaches. They don’t seem to be cracking down on the fans like they should.
A special that I saw said that blacks have not had a civil rights movement in Europe like the one in the US mostly because they are such a small percentage of the population. I’m thinking he was saying because of the small numbers, they don’ have much polictical power. Whatever, the reason, it is a shame that players of color are sometimes brought to tears or fury on the field when they are just trying to playing soccer.
