Mitt Romney finds Wawa touchtone key pad “amazing”…what does this say about him?

“You press a little touchtone key pad… You touch this, touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier, and there’s your sandwich,” Romney said. “It’s amazing!” Most people reading this post have ordered a sandwich from a touchtone key pad. It is routine to the common man but “amazing” to the true elite. Romney was amazed by the whole Wawa process and that is very telling. Was this his President Bush shopping trip moment?

Guess I must be ‘true elite’, because I have no idea what you’re talking about.

This is just another case of MSNBC editing tape to suit their propaganda needs. If you look at the full, unedited tape, which is available all over the internet, Romney talked about a ridiculously long and cumbersome bureaucratic process a person had to go through when dealing with the federal government, and he contrasted that with how competition forced private enterprise to be much more efficient, using the Wawa ordering system as an example. So, he is not out of touch. But anyone who thinks they’ll ever get the truth from MSNBC is most definitely out of touch with reality Joni.

This was definitely not a “President Bush shopping trip moment”. You quoted just a few words of Romney’s speech in Penn. Romney was comparing the private sector to the governmental sector… The federal government doesn’t have competition but the private sector, because of competition, invents/creates/designs products that can improve our lives and/or make our lives easier. Romney was using the Wawa touchtone key pad as just a cute example of what competition can do. Romney was saying, “It’s amazing” what competition can do.

This 2 ½ minute video really explains it better than I can. It starts with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell showing a very edited “It’s amazing” portion of Romney’s speech and then chuckling at Romney’s ‘out of touch’ moment. But at about the 1 minute mark the video shows what Romney actually said and why he said it. You have to admit, “It’s amazing” what creative editing can do.

This is another example of MSNBC editing tape to alter the context of what was said. They did the same thing to the 911 telephone call that George Zimmerman made in the Trayvon Martin case. The unsuspecting public gets duped again because it validates what they want to believe about Romney.

It’s a sad fact that a lot of people will only see the 30 second clip of Romney appearing to be “amazed” by some new fangled technology that’s used to make sandwiches materialize. They will listen to Andrea Mitchell and others like her make fun of Romney and believe that he is out of touch. It’s a shame that most won’t see follow-up reports with unedited video to know that Romney’s words were taken out of context.

What does this say about Obama supporters who refuse to dig for more than the scraps they’re fed?
