Rick Santorum appeared on Morning Joe today and was asked why did he not correct a woman at one of his rallies yesterday who said President Obama was an “avowed Muslim”. His first defense was she was elderly and he was not going to beat up an elderly woman, and his second defense was “it was not his job to defend the president”, and that is true, but is it his job to correct inaccurate information? Tell me what you think.

Well, yeah, it’s not his job, but it’s a matter of courtesy and decency and what we do because we’re adults, not infants.
I can’t watch this kind of stuff. It’s just so petty, and we can be better than this.
No, it is not his job. He’s running for president. His job is to make his case to the American people that he’s right for the job, not make sure they have the correct information on the guy he’s trying to replace. I’d feel that way regardless of who the candidate is, and regardless of party.
About the only thing I’d correct in his shoes if if she were to say that he was the Antichrist or that he hated America or something like that. Obama has his faults, but I trust that he loves his country almost as much as I.
